I have finally bought The Fortunes of Perkin Warbeck by Mary Shelley for 31.17 (including shipping). This book, as I see it, is out of print and I tried to order it yesterday from Waldens and the only versions she could find were over 40 dollars. Of course, there were some that were 30-something, but yeah, another employee referred me to half.com and yeah ;D Mary Shelley is underrated and I feel obligated to spread the word about her. EVERYONE, READ FRANKENSTEIN, FALL IN LOVE WITH IT, THEN TRY TO BUY HER ENTIRE COLLECTION. That woman is amazing. She describes inner struggles like no one else I have ever encountered. God, I wish I wrote like her. Don't think I haven't attempted, haha. I just slaughter her elegant style.
I also bought Schindler's List (Thomas Keneally) from Book Gallery. I'm on an impulse to buy books now that I have money (which, I have stopped myself, believe it or not). I'm also working my way to buying the collection of Kurt Vonnegut when I can. That man is simple genius, believe it. But I already have so many books to read, it's unreal!
Kidnapped, RL Stevenson (currently working on)
All over but the shoutin', Rick Bragg
Days of the Endless Corvette, Man Martin (VERY nice man -- And he loves Mary Shelley!)
Dracula, Bram Stocker
Schindler's List, Thomas Keneally
Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, RL Stevenson
The Green Mile, Stephen King
The Jungle, Upton Sinclair
The Regulator's, "Richard Bachman"
War With The Newts, Karel Capek
Oliver Twist, Charles Dickens
Orient Express, Agatha Christi
I don't want to work night shift anymore! Haha, I can't stand it. I sleep literally all day, I can't go to places since I'm sleeping... My body is just not working with me to get used to this and it's been almost a month since I began working at Sam's Club. Of course, I can't quit until I get another job in the bag, so I'm again looking. I swore off restaurant business and being a banker would be horrible. Eh. I'M STUCKKK. But I'm still searching. Summer is coming so more jobs, I guess!
Teiraa, btw! When I was looking on half.com last night I had a sudden spark of inspiration and I've already started on the beginning of your story <333 I'm researching the Mafia so I can understand them better, lol
